At KYŌ, we believe that dining is more than taste—it’s a moment of connection, care, and discovery. Founded in Phnom Penh in 2020, our brand was born from a deep love for Japanese culinary philosophy and the desire to bring that purity and craftsmanship to Cambodia.

The inspiration behind KYŌ came from unforgettable omakase journeys across Japan, Thailand, and Europe. But it was never just the flavors that stayed with us—it was the philosophy: the beauty of trusting the chef, the intimacy of the experience, and the joy of surprise.
We opened during a time of global uncertainty, but our purpose was clear: create a space where people could feel cared for. With every dish, every gesture, and every interaction, we aim to share that feeling.

Our Name

The character KYŌ (興) means a feeling of joy and surprise. It defines who we are and what we strive to give you—an elevated dining experience that awakens, inspires, and stays with you.
